Tables watch and chairs listened,
as the diatrives and silent advances of the night
fell silently to the wayside.
Thee two estranged lovers, fell into each others borrowed arms,
Leaving nothing but a vast dry expanse between them moments later.
Chilly night air filled their clothes, finding each inch of flesh,
And drawing their veins to the surface.
Cold and alone, they drudged through the falling snow -
Away from each other, to their vehicles.
She drove off quietly, her tire tracks quickly erased by all those milliions of people,
Snow flakes,
Laying on the ground, attempting to get rid of every trace of her,
For him.
But he knew, where she had driven,
And he knew the scent that was on his tongue.
His lights dimmed as the night wore on,
The car shivvered, and finally gave into the freezing temperatures,
and whips of wind driven flakes.
Dying with onl ya sputter, or two, as if it did not care.
Inside the windows were far beyond frosted over, almost like a sheet of ice.
And he sat,
quietly, but he did not shiver,
And slowly, with a sputter of air,
and another short gasp,
The machine died.

I'm falling in love with this. I like all of the emotion in it. I really love this line:
"But he knew, where she had driven,
And he knew the scent that was on his tongue."
I also love the ending with the machine dying. Makes me wonder if he himself was a type of machine for her. And if this were the case it's like a piece of himself or at least he himself is dead inside. His brain, the machine, is no longer capable of Love. i don't know that's just what comes to the top of my head
